I am a mature aged 4th year law student. I hosted a GetTogether for the 2013 election and found it highly rewarding, and so am offering to do the same again this year.
Handing out the GetUp score cards at voting booths, when I knew I had contributed to defining the issues included on the scorecards for the election, was quite exciting. I found it an excellent talking point with voters who wanted to know how the score card items had been selected. Voters who were unfamiliar with Get Up, were impressed that the score cards had been devised through a grass roots process, rather than via any particular political party or via an autocratic approach.
I am still in touch with several of the people I met at my last GetTogether, such were the strengths of the friendships made with like minded people.
Tasty vegan nibbles and a yummy chocolate/raspberry mud cake from my local bakery should not be missed.
Getting to my street from the south is tricky due to the Cross Road/South Road bridge. Entry to Bideford Avenue is easiest via Cross Roads to the east of South Road by turning down Arthur Street off Cross Roads. If approaching from the north, ensure you take the road across Cross Roads, next to the bridge - taking the bridge over Cross Roads is problematic. If you run into any problems, please phone: 83510659
